Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS) reported better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal second quarter and lifted its FY15 outlook. The company appointed Jerry Rulli as COO. Progress Software shares jumped 7.32 percent to $30.21 in the after-hours trading session.
Xoom Corp (NASDAQ: XOOM) agreed to be acquired by Paypal for $890 million, or $25 per share. Xoom shares climbed 21.26 percent to $25.10 in the after-hours trading session.
Shares of Chubb Corp (NYSE: CB) jumped more than 26 percent Wednesday after ACE Limited (NYSE: ACE) agreed to buy Chubb for $28.3 billion. ACE shares rose 0.24 percent to $102.64 in after-hours trading, while Chubb shares gained 0.03 percent to $120.02 in after-hours trading.
